Clinical Pathology at FCDC

This part of the lab checks samples like urine, stool, body fluids (like from chest or abdomen), and semen to help diagnose diseases. The lab uses modern machines and is run by skilled pathologists to ensure accurate results.

Urine Test (Urinalysis)

Urine tests are done using a fully automated machine called DIRUI FUS2000.

This machine uses Flow Cytometry – a technology that gives a detailed and accurate look at the cells and particles in urine.

After the machine checks the sample, a Consultant Pathologist also examines it under a microscope to confirm the results.

The machine is connected to lab software, which helps prevent typing or reporting errors.

Stool Test

Stool (poop) samples are tested using a Concentration Technique, which helps find even tiny amounts of parasites or germs.

This method improves the accuracy and reliability of the test results.

Body Fluids Testing

Fluids taken from different parts of the body such as:

Pleural fluid (from lungs)

Ascitic fluid (from the abdomen)

Synovial fluid (from joints)

CSF (Cerebrospinal Fluid) from around the brain and spine

Seminal fluid (from male reproductive system)

These samples are carefully examined by specialist doctors (Consultant Pathologists).

Quality Control: What Makes FCDC Special?

All abnormal results are double-checked before being finalized.

Daily internal quality control is done using special control materials to make sure test results are always correct.

This strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and reliability is what makes FCDC’s Clinical Pathology section stand out.
